Reading Joel’s take on meal comparison and seeing the difference of what 500 calories looks like was an eye-opener.  For lunch, I normally would have a slice of pizza and a soda.  However, changing that up with protein and salad offers a more filling meal staying full longer and not craving more sooner in the day.

Knowing that eating a full dinner later in the day is actually better for me and works with my lifestyle.  I felt like this book would guide me in the right direction in losing weight and helping adjust my mindset that breakfast isn’t the most important meal of the day.

Intermittent fasting allows you to have an open 8 hr window of eating and about 16 hours of non-eating.  When your meals occur later in the evening you find you aren’t that hungry in the morning when you wake up. Skipping breakfast is the latest trend but doing it correctly will lead to success in losing weight.  Staying hydrated is key, don’t drink when you only feel thirsty. You should be drinking at least half of your body weight in water.   I wasn’t thrilled when I realized how much water I should really be intaking every day.  Water is also a metabolism booster and free of calories.  The book also gives great suggestions for breakfast items that are ideal for those who can’t give up on the idea of skipping breakfast but also for those with health reasons.
